However, one day her grandmother tells of a family that has a school for girls. The payment to go to this school is very high, so it takes all the family has to pay for Sarah's schooling. Sarah loves being able to go to this school and works very hard to do good. She even learns how to write everyone's name for them. At the end of the story her grandmother dies, but only after Sarah shows her how to write her name for the first time. This book would show the students how lucky they are to have such simple things such as schooling.
